This little Harpers-Index-like compilation with compelling music is a full bag of potato chip tidbits of numerical exposition. The numbers seem accurate. At least those numbers that I have the background to know from other reputable sources.

But what do they mean? The video simply concludes that change is part of existence. This is obvious to anyone with a modicum of wisdom, or Eastern philosophy. It is also anathema to Western (Christian) teachings: The world is as it has always been and it never changes (except in some minor ways). As such, this little video may be a wake-up call to some.

Although the video doesn’t directly make this point, it hints toward the necessity of teaching kids to learn, rather than to keep teaching to the tests of standardized data and basic skills.
