Congress does not care what you think. This sickness of the U.S. political system can be demonstrated in one graph.

Bottom line of this research: It doesn’t matter what most Americans want their politicians to do.

    I have an issue with the graph in that the popularity of a measure should not represent the likelihood of a law being passed. If this was the case minorities would be discriminated against nearly all the time as the majority would enforce their views. This would be particularly a problem where relighion is a major factor in politics.
