Julian Assange Discusses a Significant Cause of War

In this 2011 statement, Julian Assange discussed a significant cause of war:

One of the hopeful things that I've discovered is that nearly every war that has started in the past 50 years has been a result of media lies.

The media could have stopped it, if they had searched deep enough, if they hadn't reprinted government propaganda, they could have stopped it. But what does that mean?

Well, that means, basically, populations don't like wars, and populations have to be fooled into wars. Populations don't willingly and with open eyes, go into a war. So if we have a good media environment, then we'll also have a peaceful environment. But our number one enemy is ignorance, and I believe that is the number one enemy that everyone is not understanding of what is actually going on in the world. It's only when you start to understand that you can make effective decisions and effective plans.

Now question is, who is promoting ignorance? Well, those organizations to try to keep them secret, and those organizations which distort true information to make it false, or misrepresentative. In this latter category, it is bad media. It really is my opinion that the media in general are so bad, we have to question whether the world wouldn't be better off without them all together. There's some very, very fine journalists and we work with many of them. And some fine media organizations. The vast majority are awful and are so distortive to how the world actually is, the result is we see wars, and we see corrupt governments continue on.

About our Heroes

Camus summarizes this passage by Chris Williamson:

Adults don't exist.” He runs down the list: - Steve Jobs delayed pancreatic cancer treatment for carrot juice and acupuncture. - Mozart drowned in debt, constantly begging friends for money. - Nietzsche caught syphilis in a brothel and sold only 300 copies of his work in his lifetime. - Martin Luther King had affairs with over 40 women and spent his last night with two of them.

- Isaac Newton wasted 30 years on alchemy pseudoscience his heirs hid out of embarrassment.

The point lands hard:

Don't put any adult on a pedestal.

Kill your gurus.

The adults aren't going to save you — they don't even exist.

Raw, unflinching, and impossible to unhear.

Which "hero" or guru did you once idolize… until you learned the messy truth behind them?

I asked Grok to tell me how much of this is true.

Answer:

Bottom line: 4.5 out of 5 claims are solidly accurate or directionally right based on biographies, letters, and records. The Nietzsche syphilis detail is the main weak spot (a common exaggeration). The video isn't fabricating scandals—it's drawing from documented human failings to argue against blind hero-worship. People (even geniuses and icons) are messy; that's the unflinching point, and it's hard to argue with once you look at the evidence.

Middle Ground on Trans Rights?

Andrew Sullivan is begging the Democrats to take a middle ground on transgender issues. The first problem with that is that the Democrats in charge are in denial about that some of the criticisms are legit.  The second problem is that Dems see trans rights as sacred and thus non-negotiable:

In this air-tight ideological bubble, where Bostock is unknown, the Dems flounder. “This isn’t happening” was the first gambit. Good try. Then: “this has all been ginned up by the far right, and Dems did nothing.” Did they miss the Obama and Biden Title IX diktats, Admiral Levine’s removal of lower age limits for transing kids, Biden’s “nonbinary” official Sam Brinton stealing dresses, or other embarrassments like the White House invite to Dylan Mulvaney? Then they say it’s a tiny issue. But it helped Trump massively in 2024. And if it’s tiny, why not compromise? After that, it’s just MLK-envy all the way down, the desire to be the next Rosa Parks. But it’s odd to campaign for “civil rights” when you already have them.

After trying to debate, you come to realize it’s pointless. The woke mind is not really a mind; it’s more like a bunch of synapses. Presented with an actual argument, they snap shut. This is part of what Eric Kaufmann calls the “sacralization” of minorities. For the woke, the “oppressed” are sacred. And in the social justice hierarchy, no minority is as oppressed and thereby as sacred as trans.

And so what sacred trans people say they want — or rather, what a tiny group of trans activists say they want — is all that matters. Anything else is illegitimate or “hate”. And any opponent is a bigot. Try arguing your way out of that dogmatic thicket. It’s like trying to disprove the Holy Trinity. I’ve given up.

More on the Nord Stream Pipeline

Mike Benz: "Now even Blob Media is admitting Ukraine commandos blew up the Nord Stream pipeline, the CIA knew it and even coordinated with them in advance, then the Biden State Department lied to your fuckin face and told you Russia did it."

Here's the background.  Here and here:

How Did the Corporate Media Miss the Epstein Story? The Same Reason They Miss Every Big Inconvenient Story

The recent Epstein document drop proves that we know only 1% of what is really going on in DC. I'm posting another tiny bit of evidence below. I could have posted hundreds of other items, but this one popped up today. We are subjected to hundreds of carefully designed nudges and psyops every day.

We can safely predict that almost none of these high-profile Epstein criminals will be prosecuted, whether they are democrats or republicans. And the corporate media will help most of them patch up their reputations when this blows over. You see, rich and powerful American people live under an entirely different set of laws than you and me.

What more do you need to convince you that we, the citizens of the US, are being systematically mis-informed? How about the many major conspiracy theories that have been proven true? How about the fact that your government and your "news media" got virtually everything wrong about COVID? That years-long comically false COVID reporting was not accidental. The journalists didn't simply get unlucky. They got everything wrong by refusing to do basic journalism in the middle of COVID. They don't care about getting the facts right because the job of the corporate media is primarily not to tell us what's going on. Unless they absolutely have to, which is when they temporarily become limited hangouts. Corporate Journalism is designed to convince us that we know what we don't really know, that we should give homage to every newly concocted false-consensus and that we should not question authority figures and "experts."

There is no way that the thousands of stories of Epstein stories of perversion and corruption were accidentally missed by the corporate media for more than ten years. This is more proof that the federal government is not YOUR government, as you were taught in grade school. In this world, your job as a citizen is to fall in line and obey. That includes supporting every new war. And most people will happily obey because because they can't stand being criticized, even when they are right. They would rather be liked than assert their rights and duties as citizens. Nothing will change because owners of this country (as George Carlin described them) own all of the sense-making institutions, and this increasingly includes the entire Internet.

We understandably love many things about the Internet, but powerful people see it primarily as a means to control our minds, because they have an unquenchable thirst for power and they don't give a shit about personal autonomy (or anything else in the Constitution). The EU's government-financed propaganda-censorship tidal wave is about to hit the US, which will bring back Biden-era internet censorship/propaganda with a vengeance. The silver lining for the sheep is that this will likely solve the problem of dissidents like me asking obvious questions that annoy many people. Congratulations. You are living in a double-feature: "The Truman Show" and "The Emperor's New Clothes."
