I follow Sayer Ji on X because he has been especially good at connecting the dots on the purported measles “emergency” closely. He has also drawn close comparisons to the government actions surrounding the COVID pandemic.
Are these government interventions really about disease? At first glance, that claim seems plausible. COVID and measles are really diseases, but the risks of these diseases are minuscule compared to many other pressing national priorities. Should society be worrying about two flu deaths, even if they were real deaths (especially one under the Biden administration 10 million or more bedded immigrants poured over the borders without regard to their vaccination, history or disease history). Even Anthony Fauci admitted that Covid was essentially as dangerous as the flu:
As he was going on comedy shows and testifying to Congress early on that Covid was “ten times deadlier than flu,” he actually co-published a scientific paper stating the opposite: Covid was about like a bad flu season.”
What are these medical emergencies really about? The government is acting as a hyper-aggressive sales rep for the pharmaceutical industry. They want to force you to put vaccines in your arm, even if Pfizer only followed the participants of the clinical trials for two months before declaring the experimental vaccines to be safe and effective. That problem, of course, pertains to Covid, but it is highly relevant given that it is an indication of the lack of credibility of Pharma.
Some people will question this, asking why one would question whether measles vaccines are critically necessary for all Americans. Of course, we are dealing with the average American, who has an extremely short attention span resulting from the lack of a rigorous education. As a nation, we have been proven incapable of running cost-benefit analyses. Consider first, that vaccines virtually nothing to do with the enormous decrease in measles death from 1900 to the present day:
Next, recent generations of pre-flu-vaccine Americans have had the flu, survived quite readily, and now have natural immunity that appears to be lifelong. When I was growing up as a kid, everyone had measles. It was unpleasant, of course, but5 we stayed home from school and we were fine. Back then, no students, teachers or parents worried about serious consequences from measles in the 60s. Back then, we did not have government officials trying to enrich the pocketbooks of pharmaceutical companies. Back then there was no profit to be made from measles vaccines.
Back to Josh Shapiro, the governor of Pennsylvania. He recently gave completely false information that there were two measles deaths in Pennsylvania. He was immediately shot down by Health officials from his own state–there were no measles deaths. But the pharmaceutical industry cannot take no as an answer. Once the train gets moving, facts must not get in the way of corporate profits and government authoritarianism. Shapiro (who has substantial connections to the pharmaceutical industry and see here) was a financially motivated actor when he announced that there were two measles deaths in Pennsylvania, and that the responsibility rests on RFK, JR. Again, there were no measles deaths, but that did not stop the news media from serving the whims of its pharmaceutical corporate masters, as discussed by Aaron Siri:
This is not the first time that a purposeful release of limited, misleading, and/or false information by health authorities is used to fear monger and cast blame and judgement on those who decline one or more vaccine products. Think back to the two “measles deaths” in Texas, claimed last year, and ask yourself how much quicker we would have learned the truth there if we had someone like PA’s Commissioner, Josh Parsons, pulling back the curtain in live time. With the information we were able to eventually obtain, we concluded that neither of those deaths were measles deaths either.** This didn’t and doesn’t stop the media or health authorities from “claiming” these two deaths as measles deaths. Maybe this time around, with Commissioner Parsons peeling back the curtain in real time, we may get a somewhat different outcome.
So there were no measles deaths? Pharma must not be thwarted, so the news media has now gone on a widespread campaign to blame RFK, Jr. for dozens of measles deaths in Samoa: “RFK Jr. Referred to DOJ Over Samoa Controversy: The Headline They Wanted — And the Coordinated Operation They Hoped You’d Never Notice.” Key takeways:
The moral leverage of the story — that Kennedy caused 83 measles deaths in Samoa — collapses under primary-source scrutiny. Samoa’s own Commission of Inquiry in early 2019 recommended the mass vaccination the government refused to conduct for seven months. Only 1 autopsy was performed on the 83 deaths, by admission of Samoa’s current Director-General of Health. The peer-reviewed Lancet epidemiology shows the epidemic was already reversing before the mass vaccination campaign began.

Simultaneously, Pennsylvania has been attacking the most fundamental civil liberties of the people in the Pennsylvania Amish community. This is extremely disturbing it should matter to you. All of us should have the right to refuse state coercion when it comes to a request that we put medicine in our own bodies.

Botsford (1891) the Supreme Court said: “No right is held more sacred, or is more carefully guarded, by the common law, than the right of every individual to the possession and control of his own person, free from all restraint or interference of others, unless by clear and unquestionable authority of law.”
- Justice Cardozo, in Schloendorff v. Society of New York Hospital (1914): “Every human being of adult years and sound mind has a right to determine what shall be done with his own body.”
- In Cruzan v. Director, Missouri Department of Health (1990) the Court recognized that a competent person has a constitutionally protected liberty interest in refusing even life-saving medical treatment. If you may refuse a feeding tube that would keep you alive, the claim that the state may compel injection of a substance “for the greater good” requires a very high justification.
Sayer Ji reports: “Pennsylvania Is Executing the Most Aggressive State Intervention in Amish Community Life in American History.” He reports: “That is not a public-health emergency. That is a cultural conversion program with a strategic time horizon.”
The government of Pennsylvania can’t stand to have a control group existing, a control group that has shown yourself to be healthier than Americans who have subjected themselves to the government vaccine ideology. New York is also engaging in these authoritarian measures. Liz Churchill:

The Second Circuit ruled this way last year and the Supreme Court vacated it and told them to try again. They decided to again violate the rights of the Amish. So, we will be going back to the Supreme Court.
Also, yes, the Amish children in this case are far healthier than American children who are vaccinated. Our sworn papers make that clear that the families in the three Amish schools at issue in this case have a total of 168 unvaccinated children (no vaccines) and that none of these children have any of the chronic health issues that plague children in the United States.
We also provided sworn expert evidence attesting that among a random sample of 168 U.S. children, one would expect to find (based on the background rate of chronic disease among U.S. children) 31 cases of environmental allergies, 15 cases of ADHD, 10 cases of asthma, 9 cases of food allergies, and 4 cases of ASD. Yet, the 168 unvaccinated Amish children whose families New York wants to persecute are free from the chronic health conditions—all related to some form of immune system dysregulation—that plague the vaccinated communities in New York.
Since vaccination is supposedly about improving health, and the Amish who do not vaccinate are clearly healthier, one would expect New York to leave them alone. But that is not how this religion works. The vaccine zealots in New York cannot stand that the Amish refuse to abandon their beliefs in favor of the religious beliefs held by the New York officials regarding vaccines. These “health” officials are willing to sacrifice the way of life and belief system of these Amish children and their community, that has kept them far healthier, if they refuse to bend the knee to adopt cult-like vaccine beliefs.
These “health” officials also apparently cannot stand that the Amish children are healthier and are even willing to wage war against them until they submit and receive every vaccine New York demands—so they can be just as “healthy” as all the children outside the Amish community.
Back to Pennsylvania. Here are steps Pennsylvania is taking right now:
By August 25, 2026, per the Shapiro administration’s own press release:
91 pop-up MMR clinics conducted since April 2026, with 40 more planned
4,100+ MMR doses administered at those clinics
35,000+ Pennsylvanians received MMR in July 2026 alone — 10,000 more than a typical month
1,000+ providers briefed in the two weeks before the August 25 announcement
Six school-based Vaccines for Children (VFC) sites in Lancaster County
Coordination with Lancaster EMS to provide in-home immunizations and local Federally Qualified Health Centers “to provide in-home horse and buggy immunization services”
Ji writes: “No other American religious minority is subject to state-run buggy clinics, in-home vaccination visits, or schoolhouse penetration campaigns.”
Steve Kirsh also offers a very dark explanation for these actions against the Amish: “States are demanding that the Amish get vaccinated in order to eliminate the control group. Otherwise the states look really bad.”
Sayer Ji is sympathetic. The Amish are getting attacked from many angles. “Pennsylvania is simultaneously carrying out the nation’s largest black-fly aerial larvicide program and truck-fogging communities with synthetic pyrethroid adulticides — a pesticide class linked in peer-reviewed research to adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes, including increased autism risk — across counties that are also under an emergency measles response targeting Amish communities with pop-up MMR clinics. The state has not publicly explained this concurrence, disclosed any assessment of combined pediatric exposure risk, or reconciled its fogging justification with its own West Nile surveillance data.” Safe and effective?
Sept. 2nd UPDATE: The neurodevelopmental dimension materially deepens the public-health questions surrounding this operation. Epidemiologic studies have reported associations between prenatal pyrethroid exposure and adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes, including autism spectrum disorder. A 2022 meta-analysis reported roughly 40% higher pooled odds of ASD associated with maternal pyrethroid exposure, while California research found prenatal exposure to permethrin associated with increased ASD risk, particularly ASD accompanied by intellectual disability.
Ji is also concerned that these measures are for a nefarious purpose. What happens when we eliminate one of the best control groups we have? Pharmaceutical companies can even more easily claim whatever the hell they want regarding safety and efficacy. Ji: “If spraying the Amish with pyrethroid pesticides increases the risk of autism, that would be another way to remove the control group wouldn’t it?”:
What is all of this about? It appears to be profit-motivated pharmaceutical ideology, both at the corporate level and at the individual level, those obedient workers who serve their corporate masters in a mass display of Hannah Arendt’s banality of evil. The corporations want to bring in huge amounts of money and the minions that serve them want to keep their jobs, get their promotions, send their kids to Naes schools and periodically take vacations. They don’t care that what they are doing is unnecessary and, in fact, is of great risk to many people. The people imposing is authoritarian measures on us or surrounded by like-minded sheep. They encourage each other to comply with their corporate Masters, because they have seen repeatedly what happens to people who speak truth. They are often fired and ostracized. They lose their promotions and their kids don’t get to go to fancy schools.
Why are vaccines the hill on which the architects of the mainstream narrative are willing to die?
Because, in the final analysis, the issue is not merely medicine. It is sovereignty.
If you will not allow your body to be penetrated by a potentially lethal intervention on faith in authority and obedience alone—and if your peers no longer believe you should be exiled, punished, or destroyed for refusing—the spell is broken.
You are no longer chattel. The “herd” becomes a people. And a people who remember that they own their own bodies cannot easily be managed through fear, secrecy, deception, or sanctioned poisoning.
Nothing is more terrifying to those who rule through manufactured obedience than a population that withdraws its consent.
You might think I am being too conspirator to argue that all of this highly coordinated government coercion, propaganda, and censorship is based on the corrupt desire to help sell pharmaceuticals combined with governmental power-mongering. I admit that this sounds far-fetched. On the other hand, I have not yet heard a better explanation for this bizarre authoritarian behavior.

Alex Berenson offers some very useful statistics regarding the risks of measles:
Measles is contagious enough that everyone who is not vaccinated will get it – or would, without the free-riding benefits of herd immunity. So if the vaccine didn’t exist, and everyone got measles, roughly 1500 to 3000 American children per year would die of measles.
Is that a plague? No. But it a FAR higher death toll than the flu or Covid causes in kids, and the vaccine has essentially eliminated it, with real but minor side effects. At 90-95 percent vaccination rates, we don’t see those deaths, because herd immunity is real and unvaccinated kids mostly do NOT get measles, which is why people can try to argue against the vaccine.
But overall, the vaccine’s cost-benefit ratio is clear. That’s why, when I discuss it, I try to make clear that what truly bothers me is not the vaccine itself but the relentless push to get from, say, 93 percent to 95 percent vaccination rates and the lies and politicization and parental shaming that have become a part of that push.
