AI’s Threat to Up and Coming Professionals Threatens a “Tragedy of the Cognitive Commons”

Nolan Lovett, in "The Tragedy of the Cognitive Commons: How AI Could Disrupt the Regeneration of Professional Expertise": "AI-assisted productivity and AI-independent expertise are not the same capability, and developing one does not automatically build the other."

This is an extremely serious problem. Many lawyers with lifetimes of experience know how to ride herd over AI. They can spot when AI is missing the mark. They know when it is spewing mere information, long strings of words that that lack persuasion. They can recognize when AI goes off the rails and almost instinctively implement corrective prompts. I'm worried that our current crop of law students and young lawyers will take the easy way out, over and over, until it is too late. They might never acquire the intellectual skills and rigorous habits of perseverance that are necessary to adequately and safely use AI in the legal field. Their clients will be the ones to pay the price.

This is, indeed, a threat to the cognitive commons:

Without intervention, organizational responses to competitive pressures will deplete the shared expertise that all organizations rely on. By eliminating entry-level positions, organizations prioritize efficiency while socializing the costs of diminishing knowledge. This leads to increased systemic fragility, where failures occur due to validators lacking the Internalized Mastery required for substantive oversight and a loss of meaningful agency in automated work. As retirees leave without adequate successors, the pool of experts shrinks, reducing the ability for independent validation and crisis management.

What Pfizer admitted. What Corporate “news” outlets still won’t tell you.

If you still trust corporate media to be generally curious (the main job of a news outlet), ask yourself why these hidden camera statements by high level Pfizer scientists didn't (and still don't) explode over the corporate media headlines.

Post by Valerie Smith:

Secretly recorded PFIZER SCIENTISTS exposed the truth they NEVER wanted you to hear.

Nick Karl (Pfizer scientist): Natural immunity from actual COVID gives *better* and more complete antibodies than their vaccine — because the jab only targets the outside protein while the real virus trains your body against the whole thing.

Chris Croce (Senior Pfizer Scientist): You’re protected with natural immunity, not the vaccine… and then drops this: “I work for an evil corporation.”

They signed NDAs to keep quiet.

They knew.

They still pushed mass vaccination on every single person.

Coercion. Mandates. Injuries.

This was never about science.

How Israelis Removed Hundreds of Thousands of Palestinians In Order to Establish Their New Country

I just finished watching the documentary "1948: Creation and Catastrophe." I highly recommend it to anyone not well-informed about the formation of Israel.

If you watch this work, you will hear from dozens of people who (including both Palestinians and Israelis) who were witness to the events discussed.

What happened in 1947-1948? In short, the Israeli's cleared out hundreds of Palestinian towns and cities and 700,000 Palestinians were forced from their homes. Upwards of 12,000 Palestinians were killed, along with more than 6,000 Israelis.

I found the entire documentary to be gut-wrenching and emotionally exhausting, but I am now better prepared to understand modern events. I also found myself repeatedly wondering many things I don't yet know: For example, there had to be other options to this horror. What were those options? How was it possible that this nightmare for the Palestinians even considered? I know I'm looking at this with hindsight, but blowback had to seem like a certainty, even in 1948.  It seems like this operation was the equivalent of kicking the can down the road without any consideration for the lives of the mostly defenseless Palestinians. Also, I repeatedly wondered who funded this operation. It appears to have been through Jewish diaspora movements throughout the world, including from the US. I want to know more about the extent of US involvement in the operation. Who supplied these military grade weapons to the Israelis and under what understanding and conditions?

Also, 1947-48 seems to have been a well-oiled plan, damn the consequences, and there are hints of this throughout the documentary. There are also largely unexplored references to the involvement (and non-involvement) by the UN. I want to know more about who was pulling those strings. Despite the overall compelling story that Israel brutalized the Palestinians, the film-makers mention that some Israelis claim to this day that the Palestinians willingly gave up their homes and chose to not return. You'll hear contrary evidence on this bizarre claim throughout the film from the various witnesses.

Here is the description by the creators of this excellent documentary:

1948: Creation & Catastrophe is the story of the establishment of Israel as seen through the eyes of the people who lived it. Rather than being a history lesson, this documentary is a primer for the present. It is simply not possible to make sense of what is happening in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict today without an understanding of 1948.

1 hr 25 min. I found it on Prime.
