Proof that we’re a social species: a carefully planned moment of synchronicity

Want some proof that we’re a social species?  Check out this carefully planned moment of synchronicity to the tune of “Do Re Mi.”

I don’t know anything about the group that is responsible for this delightful moment, but it reminds me of another group that poses like statues en masse in public spaces (I know we posted on this earlier, but I’m having trouble locating the link).  As always, it’s especially fun to watch the smiles the bystanders.

Here’s a related post, on synchronicity.

That made me feel quite emotional! I think my heart just grew two sizes larger!

Erich: Looks like the work of Improv Everywhere to me. Similar exploits have included a musical song and dance number staged in a mall, a "freezing" in time at Grand Central Station, and an annual pants-off on the subways.

This actually was part of a reality show in Belgium, Erika – but I saw the frozen folks in Grand Central, etc. in the "related videos" on YouTube. I just loved this – between this and Susan Boyle singing on Britian's Got Talent, I had several moments of grinning stupidly through unabashed tears this week!
