DNC’s Position on Immigration and Many Other Policies: Not Organic

I offer this set of quotes along with my personal view that immigration is a fraught and complex subject, one filled with difficult to formulate policy. It results in many instances of heartbreak and unfairness. What I can conclude is that anyone who has a simplistic view of immigration is not being thoughtful or honest. Take a look at these quotes by prominent Democrats.

Immigration 1

What is stunning about these quotes is that they represented the clear consensus of the DNC Complex (DNC, corporate media and most sense-making institutions in the US) for decades. Then, all of a sudden, all of these politicians have flipped 180° without any explanation and without any new evidence to justify the 180 flip. Nor any interest in the reason for the 180 by the Corporate media. In my article, I provide links to dozens videos featuring these same politicians, and others, offering opinions completely contrary to their current positions. This is further evidence that the DNC position is completely contrary to what it appears to be today. Again, without any explanation of why the DNC has flipped its position entirely.

The only thing I can say for certain is that these unexplained flips are direct evidence that this process of flipping is not organic. I suspect the following: NGO or donor money, power, attempts to pad the voter rolls (and see here and here and here and here and here and here) and tribalism. This much is certain: Normal honest people don’t completely flip their opinions on major long-held positions without explanation.

Consider further, the video excerpts of prominent Democrats who are stating policy positions most people today would characterize as “Republican”:

Immigration is not the only issue on which the DNC complex has flipped 180 degrees without explanation:

Martin Luther Kings’ teachings re color blindness.d
Suspicions regarding the US security state (CIA, FBI, DHS).
War is a horrible thing we should avoid (e.g., Support of Ukraine War).
Refusal to allow grade school teachers discuss explicit vivid sexuality with their students without knowledge and involvement of parents.
Censorship.
Violent protests that include looting are a bad thing.
Criminals should be taken off the streets
Defund the police
Genital mutilation of minors (initially this was focused on FGM practiced in other countries) and permanent sterilization of minors using “puberty blockers” and cross-sex hormones with minimal or no oversight.
Intolerance of political violence (many on the Left are now celebrating murders committed by Luigi Mangioni and Charlie Kirk and 5-10% of those who lean Left expressed regret when Donald Trump barely escaped assassination –
Recognizing the American family as a critically important cornerstone to the effective functioning of society.
Resistance to Communism.
Support of the American working class, especially blue-collar workers.
Concern about Big Pharma’s risky products and dishonesty.
Resistance to coercive govt measures of the type we saw during COVID.
Many aspects of immigration. For instance, many people on the left now get angry when it is suggested that legal immigration is different than illegal immigration.
Distrust of federal government.
Willingness to engage with people with whom we disagree, especially in universities, traditionally seen as places where students should encounter ideas that make them uncomfortable.
Nonchalance regarding Nuclear War (Seen during Ukraine War)

When I ask acquaintances why they have changed their positions, many of them look puzzled and they don’t offer evidence for changing their positions. Instead of evidence, I often hear “because of Trump,” as thought that is an explanation and as if that is not a demand to “shut up.”

As a nation, we can’t reason with each other. This phenomenon of unexplained 180 flips is a key reason.

Verification of Quotes:
I’ll break this down by each quote in the image, checking their accuracy based on reliable sources like official speeches, transcripts, and fact-checks. These are historical statements from the individuals mentioned, and I’ve confirmed them against primary or reputable secondary sources.Barack Obama Quote”We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked, and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently, and lawfully to become immigrants in this country.”This is accurate. It comes from a December 15, 2005, press conference where Obama, then a U.S. Senator, discussed immigration policy and border security.

apnews.com

The full context emphasizes the need for stronger borders while acknowledging the U.S. as a welcoming nation.Bill Clinton Quote”All Americans…are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country. They impose burdens upon taxpayers. It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation to permit this kind of abuse of our immigration laws. They are here illegally. They have to go.”This is mostly accurate but appears to be a slightly altered or condensed version of statements from his 1995 State of the Union address.

en.wikipedia.org

The original text reads: “All Americans, not only in the states most heavily affected but in every place in this country, are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country. The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public services they use impose burdens on our taxpayers… It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years, and we must do more to stop it.”Key differences:The image omits “The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public services they use impose…” and simplifies it to “They impose burdens upon taxpayers.”
It changes “for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse” to “for a nation to permit this kind of abuse” (removing “of immigrants” and changing “the” to “this”).
The ending “They are here illegally. They have to go.” does not appear in the original transcript; instead, it concludes with “we must do more to stop it.” This addition may stem from memes or paraphrases, but it’s not verbatim from the speech.

The core sentiment aligns with Clinton’s address, where he discussed aggressive border security measures, deportations, and restricting benefits for illegal immigrants.Hillary Clinton Quote”I am, as you know, adamantly against illegal immigration. I voted, when I was a senator, to build a barrier to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in.”This is accurate, though it’s a combination of two separate statements:”I am… adamantly against illegal immigrants” comes from a 2003 radio interview on WABC’s John Gambling Show, where she discussed her stance on immigration.

youtube.com

The second part refers to her votes as a senator, including support for the Secure Fence Act of 2006, which authorized barriers along parts of the U.S.-Mexico border. She reiterated this in a 2015 New Hampshire town hall: “I voted numerous times when I was a senator to spend money to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in.”

politifact.com

The quotes reflect her positions at the time, though she later clarified her language (e.g., avoiding “illegal immigrants” in 2015) and emphasized comprehensive reform.Chuck Schumer Quote”People who enter our country without our permission are illegal aliens, and illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who entered the country legally.”This is accurate and verbatim. It comes from a June 24, 2009, speech at the 6th Annual Immigration Law and Policy Conference hosted by the Migration Policy Institute, where Schumer outlined principles for immigration reform.

votesmart.org

The context was emphasizing that illegal immigration is “wrong, plain and simple,” while advocating for a path to legal status under strict conditions.SummaryThree of the four quotes (Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Schumer) are correct and verifiable from original sources.
The Bill Clinton quote is largely correct in substance but includes minor alterations and an added sentence (“They are here illegally. They have to go.”) not found in the primary transcript, making it not fully verbatim

*I double checked the accuracy of these quotations. They are all verbatim, except for the last sentence of Bill Clinton’s quote, which is not verbatim. You can find Grok’s analysis of these quotes at the bottom of this post.

Apparently a new memo just went out and they have all fallen in line (once again). These people are obeying, not thinking for themselves. I would expect some disagreement here on such a contentious topic, but no.

Look back to 2003 when Joe Scarborough understood the danger of “buying votes” by giving driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.

Far as 180° turns in policy without any evidence justifying that change, it’s hard to beat Donald Trump’s decision join with Israel to invade Iran. Stunning, perplexing, and contrary to perhaps the central promise he made during his campaign.

One more 180 Degree turn for now. Virtually everyone associated with the DNC assured us that Joe Biden was incredibly effective, focused and energetic only days or weeks before the moment where the big hook came out to replace him (without a primary) with Kamala Harris.
