Unintentional Nod to Caravaggio

I mentioned in an earlier response that I’d painted my sleeping porch. Back before air conditioning  multi-story buildings often had a tiny porch off of at least one of the bedrooms. In the summer, this was a cool place to sleep. The deck of the one outside my bedroom is protected by soldered strips of sheet metal, that in turn need protection by paint every decade or so. I use a white polyurethane to add light to my room and longevity to the deck.

But, there is a wrought iron railing around the deck that had to be scraped and painted first. Now a storm was approaching after this unusual warm spell in November. I was trying to beat it. So I used black spray paint (that had been in my basement for a few years). On a windy day. But such a warm day that encouraged shorts and bare feet.

Bare feet on a smooth surface downwind from spray paint. Here, I accidentally made of myself a potential model for Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, one of whose scandals was to draw the soles of feet as they truly appeared in the days before universal footwear. In pious pictures of holy people, no less!
