Nicely done! I’m going to save me that clip 🙂

I love that! He admits to bringing the wrong notes, tells everyone to what they prefer, and then completely fails to see the irony in his own position. With a straight face he repeats the same arguments without recognizing them for what they are and only understands the mistake when he sees the word Segregation, then goes on to admonish the council not to mistake the one for the other, yet revealing how perversely identical both positions are.

Yeesh! And the further irony of not understanding how individual freedom as we define it in this country is so categorically apposite what is prescribed in the Bible. Typical. The unspoken assumption is that, along with Washington, Madison, Monroe, Franklin, and the rest, Abraham, Jacob, David, and the Macabees are our Founding Fathers.

    Hypocrites.

Mark: I assumed the entire speech, including the “epiphany,” was all planned.

To what end? Do you think he was intentionally trying to subvert the message? Hmm. That would be an interesting twist. Risky, though, playing to an audience that might not “get it.”

I don’t know anything more about the guy than what the video shows, but that’s what I assumed. I think you’re right about the audience perhaps not “getting” it.
