    Yeah, it's amazing how little people read on facebook pages. There have been events I've created where I've written, "This is only an online vote that takes place over the course of several days. It is not a physical event. Please DO NOT write that you have work at that time." and will inevitably still get comments on the wall that say (not ironically, I'm pretty sure), "sorry, I have to work at that time" or "sorry, I'm in Boston." There are some minor things you can do to fight it, like making the name of events or groups as unambiguous and informative as possible, but even that only goes so far.
