At Salon.com, Anne Lamott writes eloquently about her inner struggle brought on by Sarah Palin’s nomination, then issues a call to arms. Here’s an excerpt about her inner struggle:

And he said, “Absolutely. They are everything He or She hates in a Christian.”
I have been in a better mood ever since, and have decided not to even say this woman’s name anymore, because she fills me with such existential doubt, such a sense of impending doom and disbelief, that only the Germans could possibly have words for it. Nor am I going to say the word “lipstick” again until after the election, as it would only be used against me. Or “polar bear,” because that one image makes me sadder than even horrible old I can stand.
I hate to criticize. And I love to kill wolves as much as the next person does. But this woman takes such pride in her ignorance, doesn’t have a doubt in the world about her messianic calling, that it makes anyone of decency feel nauseated — spiritually, emotionally and physically ill.

And? I've read a couple of times already how inept, hypocritical, opportunistic, etc. she is, but what are you guys going to do to get rid of her and McCain? Is there something useful to come out from all these analyses or is this just intellectual exercising for the sheer fun? At least Obama seems to have the necessary street smarts to deal with people like them unlike Kerry (I'm sure he had his fun with the "lipstick on a pig" comment, not that I wouldn't understand his reasons).
I disagree, Obama hasn't done enough and fast enough and hard hitting enough about the lies, lies and more lies of McCain/Palin!

Yeah, he should be more active, but he is still not the same kind of person as Kerry. I'm pretty curious how he will counteract McCain and Palin.
