Six Flags over Jesus

After reading this account by someone who attended a so-called “mega-church,” I was struck by the many parallels between the methods used by that church and the methods used by Hitler.  Slick propaganda, belittling and scapegoating of outsiders, blending religion with nationalism, using fear to manipulate emotions, praising self-interest, etc., were all techniques used by the Nazis.  It is more than a little disturbing to think that the tools used by the most evil organization of the 20th century might have found a new home in this century:  corporate Christianism.

[Note: Erich posted earlier on his own trip to a large evangelical church in St. Louis. Reading these two accounts, one can see many similarities]
