Come on, Grumpy. It’s a natural fit: Exhaust fumes, the roaring of engines, big crowds eating nachos and drinking beer, skid marks, shining trophies . . . and Jesus.
NASCAR grew out of bootlegging, bootlegging grew out of Prohibition, Prohibition grew out of Temperance, Temperance grew out of moral and religious ferver. It's a natural progression.
