What does it mean when people all around are shaking each others’ hands but not yours? I know that this video is widely available (I saw it on Huffpo), but it is a potent non-verbal message that bears on the foreign policy damage done by President Bush.

It's kind of mean how they treated him. They are rather passive-aggressive than anything else. On the other hand, he was also walking past them without making eye-contact or looking at them at all.
As a good friend of mine likes to say about the Bush administration and the Republican party in general: "The chickens are coming home to roost." Indeed, what goes around, comes around.
Pfft.
He should count himself lucky he wasn't pimp-slapped by each and every one of them. Everyone's just watching the clock until he shuffles out the back door of the Whitehouse and never troubles us again. Considering the damage he's done to our planet and to his own country, a public snub is pretty light treatment.
They are doing it now that he is leaving. Where were they before??
Proj: Good point. And where were all the conservative politicians and media commentators who now admit that Bush's policies are atrocious?
The system is corrupt. We need a free and vigorous media system that puts criticism of those in power up front, right with all of the politicians' press releases that they are oh so happy to publish. Maybe that would give these quiet hypocritical sorts of people more courage to step forward and state what they really think at a time when it MATTERS.
