October in Washington Park, Portland Oregon

I’m in Portland Oregon this weekend for a consumer law conference. I did have a chance to walk through Washington Park this afternoon, and I wanted to share a few photos. Washington Park is a few miles from downtown Portland, Oregon. Though the first photo was taken at the Portland Zoo, the others were taken at the Hoyt Arboretum.

Click on these small images for larger images, but I must warn that no photo could really capture the dimensions of these majestic trees. It was truly something to behold.

That park is brilliant! Hubby and I were there more than a dozen years ago, and spent the whole day visiting the gardens. I remember a historic house either in the park or very close by, as well, that was magnificent. (I could be wrong!)

Portland itself is a very nice place with very friendly people. . .and Powell's Books/Powell's Books for Cooks, which was another one of our favorite spots.
