Perhaps some people think that I’m being unfair to Sarah Palin. After all, maybe she knows a lot about the world but just isn’t telling us anything that inspires us. It’s with that backdrop that Katie Couric asked Sarah Palin about the news sources Palin consults to stay informed. It’s a fair question, because most Americans wonder whether Palin is informed. Here’s an excerpt from that interview:
COURIC: And when it comes to establishing your world view, I was curious, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this — to stay informed and to understand the world?
PALIN: I’ve read most of them again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media —
COURIC: But what ones specifically? I’m curious.
PALIN: Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years.
COURIC: Can you name any of them?
PALIN: I have a vast variety of sources where we get our news.
Erich (oops, nearly spelled your name with a "k") … you, unfair?
No. McCain and his handlers are being grossly unfair to America, insulting its collective intelligence by throwing out this transparently cynical & underqualified, underinformed and sub-intelligent Hail Mary pageant queen a scant few months before the most important US election for many years.
McCain's being unfair to his party by not giving them the best possible chance of victory (not that I have a great deal of sympathy for them).
And, for the record, Tina Fey has been more than fair to Sarah Palin thus far: Fey barely even needs to write satires of Palin's statements – she can just recite them word for word 😀
