I've read XKCD for a while now, and while the programmer jokes go over my head, I love everything else about it. One of my more recent favorites.
I learned of XKCD from a flirtatious dance partner this past weekend, who is a Computer Science professor. Having grown up surrounded by professors, I never "got" the public image of them as staid and dull. Math geeks, in particular, have intense senses of humor. Look up Richard Feynman or Tom Lehrer.
This is my own attempt. Not as elegant as XKCD, but I needed to get it off my chest:
