Here’s a good essay about the need to face reality in Iraq, written by a retired Army general who now teaches at Yale.

William Odom writes frankly and compellingly about Iraq. He also writes with a tone you don't hear from politicians. He conclusion that we need to get our troops out of Iraq makes me wonder how he would proceed, in a nuts and bolts way.
Erich, I agree. Let's us ask the general, he's at Yale. Maybe he'd like to let us know in another piece on this blog, or anywhere?
Common sense is uncommon on the Potomac these days, perhaps there's more on the Hudson? What say you, General Odom?
