The Ten Commandments are not what you think

Since we’re on the subject of Bible contradictions, did you know that there are at least three different versions of the Ten Commandments?  The Jews have one, the Catholics have one and the Protestants have one.  This is one reason why posting the Ten Commandments in public buildings violates the U.S. Constitution — because posting one of the three versions of the Ten Commandments would indicate that the U.S. government favors one of those three Judeo-Christian religions above the other two (and, indeed, favors it also above all the other religions on our planet).  This would be a direct violation of the Establishment Clause of the Constitution.

If the president can violate the constitution with 'line item veto' power, who will stop the illuminati from further brainwashing the people by feeding the bill of rights through the paper shredder?

Indeed, presidents have, for years, sought line item veto power, because such power would dramatically shift the power in our federal government away from Congress and into the office of the president. Anytime a president would want a Congress Member to support the president's agenda, the president could simply threaten to "line item veto" all federal spending going to that Member's home district, which is the political lifeblood for any incumbent. The result would be presidential extortion on a massive scale, and America's democracy would take a gigantic leap toward dictatorship. Congress would march to the president's orders, not to the American peoples'.

What in the heck does a line-item veto have to do with the Ten Commandments?

The Catholic Church or Beast is apostate in the Lord's eyes. So obviously their set of Commandments is not right.

They have tried to change the laws and times as predicted in Scripture.

The Catholics eliminated the 2nd Commandment about not worshipping images and changed the 4th Commandment about the Sabbath. In order to get back to 10, they split the 10th into 2 parts.

Men are always going to change things to suit their desires, but the original 10 commandments are listed in Exodus and Deuteronomy. The original set go against the carnal mind and desires.

The Protestants are following the Beast. They are the daughters of the great harlot according to Scripture.

Here is some Scripture for you to consider on this subject:

"I will put my laws into their hearts and into their minds I will write them

    (Hebrews 10:16 KJV)."

"For what the law cannot do in that it was weak in the flesh, God sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh. That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit (Romans 8:3-4 KJV)."

Those who love God will keep his laws with no complaining or argument. A free-will offering.

The Hebrew/Jewish version should be the one followed or posted publicly as it is from these "First" Commandments handed down to Moses that we get all our other variants, even the one which has had one very important commandment removed.

I think this should answer your questions as to which is the real ten commandments.

I still don't understand how the laws brought down from the mountain in Exodus 20-21 got abridged to just 10 commandments. I can't find 10 different subjects in Exodus 20, nor are any of the equally binding laws from Exodus 21 in any set of the 10 commandments I've seen published as such.

Char's comment ignores the fact that the entire Bible is claimed to be the Word of God, so upon what authority should we do as Char suggests and give the Exodus list a higher status than the other lists?

Furthermore, given that Exodus contains *more than* ten imperative statements (totalling fourteen or fifteen commandments depending on how you count them), I'm curious which "very important commandment" Char refers to as having been removed. I'm also curious which ten commandments Char would propose be posted in public buildings, given that choosing *any* ten would necessarily require removing several "very important" commandments from the original list of fourteen or fifteen.

Going back to Jah's comment, it is interesting that Jah declares both Catholics *and* Protestants to be followers of the Beast. Aren't all Christians considered to be either Catholics or Protestants? Is Jah declaring all Christians to be satanists?

Char has settled it. We can all go home now. Since she is so certain, we can publish the Official Ten Commandments in government buildings too. If anyone disagrees, we can just have a big bloody religious war.

“I will put my laws into their hearts and into their minds I will write them"

If they are written in our minds why do we need to post them? Is it necessary to read a particular verson of the bible to know them?

Not all Christian denominations fit under the Catholic and Protestant umbrellas. The Orthodox Christians are a group of Eastern religions from whom the Catholics split off somewhat like how Luther split from his mother church. What about the newer forms of Christian that split off from Protestants, like Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and others. Are we including all non-Catholic western forms of Christianity as Protestant? Jews for Jesus? Unity? Scientology?

Where do the Gnostics fit in? Or the practitioners of Voodoo (who do worship Jesus and Mary and a very Catholic-like pantheon of saints)?
