According to Time Magazine [1], the Mayor of Sao Paulo banned most outdoor advertising two years ago, “in a bold effort to rid the city of what he called ‘visual pollution.'” You can check out some images of the new Sao Paulo at the Time link.
I have a special interest in pulling the plug on much of the advertising to which we are exposed [2] (and see here [3]and here [4]), especially advertising in public spaces. I think of it as corporate graffiti. And see here [5], regarding advertising aimed at children.
