Holiday Money is Fungible, Too.

You may have noticed the regular mentionĀ  of the word Fungible in this blog. In this post, I’m suggesting a couple of places to spend some of the pittances we regularly waste in this season of Yuletide universal potlatch. Feel free to respond with others.

Dale McGowan, author of the book “Parenting Beyond Belief” and “The Meming of Life” blog is passing the PayPal hat in a post called Tin Cup Time, to solicit funds to meet expenses. They’re good resources for those trying to raise rationalists in a Christian nation. (btw: He’ll be speaking in StL on Jan. 4, 2008)

Need holiday greeting cards? Here’s the text on the front of one that I like:

On December 25th, a Savior was born.
He revealed eternal Truth, bringing Joy to millions.
He astonished the world with His command over Nature.
He changed history forever.

But it’s not for the guy one assumes on this holiday.

So pause the next time a colorful tin of costly cookies beckons from the end-of-aisle sucker section of your local market. Where is the fun in working those off? You could be supporting a fellow blogger or sending a real message this holiday.
