Karl is unfailingly polite, even though I disagree with most of his arguments. He has forced me to refine and sharpen my own arguments, in those posts where he has engaged me. For that I thank you, Karl.

I am sure that he and I are mutually frothing with frustration as we tilt at each others windmills. But he civilly refrains from making it personal. When my asymptotically honed points don't find their mark, then we need to step back and let the issue de-froth. Maybe one of us or the other will later find an unexplored difference in that issue. Then it's once again tips up and en garde!

A polite "agree to disagree" would have been sufficient. This acknowledges neither of us is going to change the other person's point of view regarding the matters under discussion. It respects a person' right to express their ideas and beliefs without needing to resort to the big guns to try to intimidate and or frustrate the other person.

I feel responsible for bringing up the issue over in the other thread. It's something I feel quite strongly about, so under the circs it's not a good use of my time or anyone else's for me to continue any conversation with Karl. I don't wish to cut off or shut down anyone else's conversation however.

I'm taking the conversation over here to avoid censorship? Vicki must know how Erich was going to respond. Get your dig in and then claim I'm pulling you off track.

[Admin note: This comment regarding Andy Martin and Barack Obama's birth certificate is irrelevant to this post and has thus been truncated. Vickie Baker has not commented to this post.]

It has been interesting to watch the circular firing squad, especially the one being driven by Sarah Palin. So far, she has blamed the following people for her poor appearance and her election loss: her handlers, the media, and the Bush administration. Isn't it just like someone with "executive experience" to assign blame to others?
