I am not sure what is more troubling - Palin dodging this question, or doing it sitting right next to John McCain. Anyone else think they see the realization that his campaign is hurtling over the bridge to nowhere flash over his face? Perhaps I am imagining things.

Arnold Scwarztneger can’t become president because of this stipulation. I dont care what qualified candidate wins the election. There are only three stipulations for running for office of President of the United States. One can be a former felon and have served time in jail.
This issue is one of Constitutionality - either uphold the constitution or change it, but don’t say the issue has no bearing. A former Hillary Clinton democratic supporter pushed the case in PA. Now there are suits filed in eight other states and the Supreme Court will probably need to hear the case, or any superior state court in America could swing the election between now and January.
Karl—if this were a real issue, Hillary Clinton’s campaign would have jumped on more than a year ago. She would have trashed him had there been such a legitimate means of doing so. I know, I know, she’s a Democrat, too, but she hung on for dear life almost unto the point of doing serious damage to the Party’s chances of challenging the Republicans. This is on par with the grassy knoll, the missing minutes in Nixon’s tapes, and the question of what Reagan knew and when he knew it.
In short, this is desperation of a Rovian nature.
Yes, Karl, the Annenberg Foundation (funder of factcheck.org) is deeply biased! The chair of its Board of Trustees, Leonore Annenberg, has publicly endorsed John McCain! They even accuse Obama of making false claims about McCain’s medicare plan! You just can’t trust ‘em!
BTW, do you even know what the laws were about travelling on a parent’s passport back in the day?
Please have the basic human decency to check facts before spreading rumors and malicious gossip. Seems to me Jesus had something to say on this topic.
The state of Hawaii has also confirmed the validity of Obama’s birth certificate.
Then again, how American is Hawaii, really? Some of them Hawaiians sure talk and dress and look funny, not like you and me. And they’re always trying to overcharge the non-locals. Can we trust them?

Karl, I was born in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania, like many other states, does not use a long form as the official certificate.In fact there is no standard national birth certificate. I don’t know hwo many times I have been required to prove that my birth certificate is real. It was readily accepted by the US Air Force as evidence in aquiring a civilian security clearance to Warner-Robbins AFB in connection with a contract job for the company I worked for at the time.
It is a trivial matter to authorize a third party to request a copy of your birth certificate. That’s what I had to do to pass the background check.
Part of the nature of the internet is such that anyone can put anything on the web and claim it as fact, even if it is when it obviously is not. But some lies are more insidous. Many of the worst propaganda has references pointing to other sites which an analysis of proasiac style indicates are written by the same author under an assumed name. You can find any thing to support what you want to believe, and most people do just that.
So, if you believe in something strongly enough, does it become reality? Not in my universe. Small kids believe in Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, and the Easter Bunny, but they aren’t real. Politicians want us to believe that by giving us $300 to spend on cheap imported Chinese junk we will create jobs for Americans. And pundits that want the people to believe they are perfect, want us to believe that an easily authenticated document is a fake.
Skepticism should be applied to all claims equally, not selectively to those statements which disagree with your world view. A Hawiian birth certificate is easily authenticated. A Kenyan birth certificate is not so easy. Being skeptic means not buying in to anyone’s lie, no matter how convincing.
I can see the matter will need to be decided by the Supreme Court. The other states that are pushing for a simple fact check could cause insurmountable damage to the workings of the Electoral College between now and January. If a state Superior court or state legislature tries to validate or invalidate votes cast this could be a maze to walk through.

McCain gave the credentials which were clearly as stated.
In days there will be a certified translation of an audio tape from Sarah Obama (His African Grandmother) four years ago that stated in her native language that she was present in the African Hospital the day Obama was born.

There are now a total of ten states requesting that he produce the goods. The actual document. The person going after him is/was a Hillary supporter and He started early in the summer but got no where with Barry ot the DNC.

So, got that, all you insane conspirancy theorists who think that Obama’s parents, grandparents, the state of Hawaii, factcheck.org, politifact.com the United States Congress. the United States Department of State and hundreds of others are all implicated in a plot to conceal Obama’s birth in Kenya: This proves conclusively that Obama is a 100% American just like all the other illegitimate children of black separatist revolutionaries and white college students. Why would both Hawaii and KENYA order the birth records sealed?
Why are the only eye wirtnesses of the birth not allowed to talk to any one until after the election?
Why are so many others records of this candidate sealed or under wraps until after the election? Does anyone believe in the rights of discovery, or is secrecy the only thing we can count upon from the past, present and future of this candidate?
If this is how you want a president to deal with who he really is, what his life story really is, what he has written about and who provided for his education then you need to rethink what you believe and why you believe it.
Karl: You are inconsistent in your skepticism again. Where are Sarah Palin’s or John McCain’s medical records, for starters?
On what information are you assuming that the eye witnesses to the birth are not allowed to talk? I’ve heard nothing about this before. Why would it matter if the Hawaii birth certificate (and the Hawaii newspaper birth announcement) are genuine, which they really truly appear to be?
