I keep thinking about all the hysteria in America following the 9/11 attack. Back then, I scoffed at all the people who irrationally feared that the attack would destroy America's way of life. Now, after seeing the many ways in which the Bush Administration has over-reacted to the attack, and the crippling impact his over-reactions have had on America's way of life, I see that I should not have scoffed. Although I was correct in concluding that the attack itself was not a existential event, I grossly underestimated America's incompetence in responding to the attack. Now I realize that terrorists are not America's biggest enemy; stupid people are.

I don't claim to know much about economics, but I too have some common sense. That is why I agree with Nicole Belle, who is also not an economist but who also claims to have some common sense. http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/09/20/definition-of-economic-insanity-handing-paulson-a-blank-check-for-bailouts/
