Skateboard-photography

I don’t know what is more amazing:  the skateboarding at 30 mph or the smooth videotaping.  I’ve never seen anything like this before.   Via DailyKos.

That brings back memories of my skateboarding days. I would estimate that they were averaging a little of 30 mph, but on some stretches it appeared closer to 50. I wish I could still do that!

The smooth videotaping is likely a result of the improved image stabilization features included with many modern handheld hd cameras. (breathes)

  3. Image stabilization only goes so far. You still need to have good technique. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have an additional stabilization rig for that camera.

One additional point…why must amateur filmmakers give us such a long intro before we get to the meat of the the subject? Why did we have to watch them suiting up before we could watch the ride?? Even the Daily Koz noticed this and warns “…skip the first two minutes”!

I have found this to be very common with amateur internet videomakers. They don’t seem to know where the video should BEGIN and give us long and useless intros or endless titles. I attribute it to ego.
