I just read that Palin is good for distracting from Obama, because he may be a “newbie” on the political scene, but she is even more. It’s just more interesting to write about an ex-beauty queen who might become vice president one day. She is the talk of the day, whether you like her or don’t. Everybody is talking about McCain and Palin and less about Obama.

Dan: I agree that these are distractions. Here’s is what they are trying to distract us from:

[H]ere’s a thumbnail. The day after Sarah Palin’s historically overrated Edie McClurg With Lying performance at the Republican convention, the Dow tanked 344 points. The day after that, the Republicans got their bounce — an unemployment rate bounce to 6.1 percent — the highest level in five years. Two days after that, Secretary Paulson announced the government’s “deprivatization” of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. And yesterday, the Dow dropped another 280 points. All of this within the last seven days. So what are the Republicans and the barbecue media talking about today? A pig metaphor that’s older than John McCain.

I tire of this Palin distraction. It is an issue with no meat. The selection of this wannabe tie-breaker of the Senate is an attempt to appeal to that very demographic that believes that a woman’s place is in the kitchen.

The real question is: From what are they trying to distract us?

I think McCain is already regretting his choice of Palin. I predict she will be the downfall of his campaign. If America elects that insincere duo I hope that the new Large Hadron Collider does create a mini black hole that swallows the Earth because we will deserve it!!
