If Karl Rove ran the Democrat’s campaign, his ads aimed at John McCain would look something like this:

I spotted this ad at Andrew Sullivan’s The Daily Dish.

No, that's not Karl Rove's style at all. Rove is much more devious and subtle — a dirty trickster.

Rove doesn't make ads. Rove orchestrates events and let's the press run the "ads".

For example… If Rove wanted to make Americans hate kittens, he would start a rumor that Osama bin Laden likes kittens. Then he would pull some strings and have a friend of his in a different city (with an Arabic-sounding username) upload a YouTube video of a black cat pissing on an American flag. He would do this just before Halloween so that superstitious people would already be a little spooked of cats. Then, for his piece de resistance, he would have someone at Fox News produce a "society" piece about "people and their pets" featuring a bunch of strong, hip, good-looking, up-and-coming dog owners with nice looking dogs and a bunch of dirty, cross-eyed-hippie-communist cat owners with ugly, screechy cats. The piece would air between two news stories – one about a dog who rescued a kid from a burning building and the other about a nun who broke her leg after she tripped over a cat.

Within a week, the ASPCA would be overrun with cats and kittens while puppy mills would be springing up all over the country.
