The Grand Basin at night
This is a favorite spot of mine. It’s called the Grand Basin and it’s located in the middle Forest Park in the City of St. Louis, Missouri. I enjoyed this image of the area because it contains views of some rather large objects (like the St. Louis Art Museum and a lake/fountains in front of the Museum, as well as tiny cracks on the pavement, where I took this photo (approximately 300 yards from the Museum). I placed the camera on the ground and let it auto-shoot this scene.
I come to this spot on occasion in order to write while the sun sets. From here it’s about a 5-mile bicycle ride back to my home.
You’re getting quite “artsy” with your photography. I like it!
Thanks, Mike. As we’ve discussed before, here’s my “technique”: I take a lot of pictures and I delete most of them. I was inspired by Linus Pauling, who was once asked how he had such good ideas. He said: “The best way to have a good idea is to have a lot of ideas.”
I don’t post 99.9% of the images I take.
Or Ken Keasey, who typed reams while high, and then kept select paragraphs when sober, to end up with “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”.
I usually take thousands of shots on a trip, and then post a couple of hundred to illustrate it. (My Travel Pages Most of the descriptive text is in the captions, in more recent years).
