If I could interview the Pope…

…this would be one of my questions: if, as you claim, God expects unmarried people to practice sexual abstinence, and expects teenagers to benefit from abstinence-only sex “education,” then why can’t your own ordained Catholic priests manage to practice it? Isn’t your demand for abstinence a bit like declaring that God expects people to fly and will condemn them as sinners for not doing so, unless they join (and donate money to) the Catholic church?

The Pope recently said he was ashamed of all the sexual abuse associated with priests and that he was going to take care of the problem. Here’s the article.
Lawyers are often criticized for filing lawsuits. I think the pedophile priest problem is one case where lawsuits got the church to actually do something other than hiding their pedophile priests in new parishes. I think that without the pain and expense of those lawsuits, the church would still not be giving a damn that its priests were running around molesting children.
