Huhhh???

June 19th, 2007 by Vicki Baker

This is my official favorite ad of the 2008 political campaign (so far)

If there is a point I don’t get it, but it’s very restful. Very zen, in fact. I had no idea who Mike Gravel was until this video made me go to his website. So it worked, I guess.

Vicki, thanks. I too was intrigued by the distinctive ad. I too went to Mike Gravel’s website. I clicked on one of his debate videos. He said that soldiers are “dying in vain” in Iraq just as they did in Viet Nam. Then he asked: “What’s worse than soldiers dying in vain.” Answer: “More soldiers dying in vain.” Poll-stroked candidates don’t know what to do with statements like this.

It makes me angry that the media has already deemed who the “legitimate” candidates are–the one’s with more money, supposedly. Yet no one has voted for any candidate (isn’t that the only way to really know who is a “contender”) and the names and positions of allegedly “second-tier” candidates like Mike Gravel are not yet well known.  The candidacy of Mike Gravel yells the need for campaign finance reform.
